Graduate Certificate in Engineering Management

The Engineering Management Bridge Certificate Program includes a multi-disciplinary curriculum administered through the Department of industrial and Manufacturing Engineering in the College of Engineering. The program is designed to prepare graduate students, individual practitioners, and professionals to work in the fields of manufacturing, product realization, engineering design, and operations/process/service management in a variety of settings, integrating business into the student’s primary discipline. Adding the engineering management certificate to existing educational and work experience is likely to enhance an individual’s career opportunities and options in engineering leadership and management.

Specific program learning objectives include:

  1. Understanding and integrating the design, test, and build product lifecycle
  2. Modeling, analyzing, and controlling design and production activities
  3. Valuing the impact of quality, cost, and timeliness metrics on systems performance
  4. Demonstrating a basic knowledge of business processes and technologies
  5. Performing data analysis and optimization for decision making
  6. Justifying process, organizational, and technological projects in business cases
  7. Supporting systems engineering and project management
  8. Communicating effectively (written and verbal presentations) across all levels of the enterprise
